Maybe one day they'll have a show for "children and young people" in the best show category with the "adult" theatre.

Bit nervous about our first day at the Imaginate festival. Opening a new show is always so strange; after so much work it's suddenly there, you have a pint, and fall asleep in unexpected places.

Finally, I've done a page for Kes. A beautiful production. It's under the Work section of the website.

Kes will be published by Samuel French in 2012 if anyone wants to read it.

There will be a Scottish tour of Pondlife this year. If you haven't seen it, keep up with what's going on at Catherine Wheels.

Peter Pan 02/04/2012

It's frrrrrreeeeezing. Finished my first draft of Peter Pan for the Sherman Cymru in Cardiff. I see they're already selling tickets, so I hope the play will come together of the coming months. It's certainly going to be like no Peter Pan I've seen before. www.shermancymru.co.uk

Went to Cove Park to write for a week with the National Theatre of Scotland. I didn't realise how it would affect me. Wrote a new play and felt strange as the insides of my head seemed to expand into the massive space of the mountains and loch in front of my 'pod'. Dreamy.

Now I'm busy being a 33 year old reindeer in the Arches Christmas show. Mmmmmm.

Thanks to Paul Fitzpatrick at Catherine Wheels

Been working on an adaptation of Kes with Catherine Wheels in rehearsal for the last five weeks. We're just going into tech week now. This is the bit I get excited about, when the script is in place and the lush stuff happens. All the lights designed by Jeanine Davies, the fantastic sound by Danny Krass and the video projection by Jonathan Charles. And I think it's all going to make something quite special. I hope so.
